IMS naturally restores overall function by desensitizing super-sensitive structures through needling. The process is painless for most cases and unlike medication, absolutely no dangerous after-effects.

Each IMS therapy session is cumulative, eliminating chronic pain that medication or traditional treatments cannot resolve.
How does IMS work?
IMS releases tight muscles and relieves pressure on tendons, joints, and nerves by inserting fine needles into the muscle. This activates the muscle's reflexes leading to relaxation, better blood circulation, and restoration of normal function.
Both use fine needles. Acupuncture’s needle placement is defined according to Eastern Medicine principles while IMS’ core philosophies lie in understanding of human anatomy and neurology. The process of IMS works to diagnose and treat pain from its neuropathic origin.
I’ve had acupuncture before. How will this be different?
The number of treatments required depends on an individual’s condition. Generally, if the pain or injury is recent, it may only need a few therapy sessions. Factors like age and general health status may affect the length of treatment too. Typically IMS therapy is performed once every 2 weeks.
How many treatments do I need?
Upon treatment, a tiny aching sensation might be felt when the needle is inserted into the affected muscles. The treatments are fairly short and for most cases, it is generally painless afterward but some patients may experience soreness for a day or two after their therapy.
Is it going to be painful?

"Joe is the best physio I've ever had (and I've seen my fair share). I am seeing him following knee surgery (arthroscopy) and am pleased with my progress. He uses a number of approaches to tackle your issue and is excellent at explaining the reasoning behind the exercises he prescribes. The vibe of the clinic is positive and upbeat, the clinic manager Kelsey is delightful and helpful with booking and insurance claims. " ~ Andrée-Ann Cyr Google Review
"I am having a great experience with Joseph for physiotherapy, from day 1 after my first initial assessment he pointed out the root of my problems/inabilities, which allowed us to work on improving the flexibility, mobility etc. of those areas to reach my goals, since then, I have seen tremendous improvement after doing those appropriate exercises. Before The Rehab Grid, I have tried Osteopathy, Massage, and another physio, and I didn't see much improvement. I highly recommend him for physio therapy. " ~ Angie Google Review
"If it wasn’t for the great skills of Karim and Joseph I wouldn’t be able to work! As a hygienist I experience neck and lower back pain pretty consistently! They have been tremendous in my rehab process and encouraging with all my exercise rehab as well! I look forward to continuing this preventative health relationship for many years!" ~ Nancy Bent Google Review
